Memorial Biography

From what I’ve heard from family, dad was an adventurous boy, always bringing home stray animals, making creative swings for his sisters to “test” and always exploring. As a man, he served our country in both the Army and Air Force as a Military Policeman. It was there he met my mother and fell in love. Limited in each other’s language and acclimating to new cultural differences mom and dad were determined to make it work. They were married and moved to the U.S. to start a family. Three kids later (which I account for his full head of gray at this point), dad planted us in east Charlotte near his dear parents where we take root and grow. He loved horticulture and grafting. He and mom spent much quality time in their large garden together. Dad loved technology and discovering new gadgets. He sang all the time (one of his favorites was “no blue skies” in which he sang even the instrumentals). He loved his mom’s cooking as well as his wife’s. He looked forward to hanging out with his dad, mom and sisters and their respective families every Sunday. Dad was a fervent prayer and read the Word every day. He had faced many dangers and even death many times throughout his life and trusted that God was alway protecting him. He loved this country and our president. He served and protected most of his life and we were fortunate to live with such a sentinel of God and country. We will miss his tall presence and good humor. We do rejoice in the fact he is with his Savior and look forward to joining him one day. “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5:8‬ ‭
